Fairy tales, people, mentalities – stories for a Lusatia of tomorrow
A storytelling workshop as part of „My Business is HOW I Catch It 2026“ Do you fancy telling (your) story? The Lusatia used to be full of them. The people
told each other about mermen, the Lutki, the Pśezpołdnica and some even had a lucky dragon in their attic. Then the world changed. Open-cast mines ate their way through villages, some stories fell silent and new ones emerged. But who tells them today? That's exactly what we want to find out! Over three weekends, we will immerse ourselves in the art of free oral storytelling and combine the fairy tales, myths and legends of Lower Lusatia with biographical experiences, anecdotes and perspectives of tomorrow. We tell stories in German, Sorbian/Wendish, English with sign language or in completely different languages. Lower Lusatia sounds diverse and that's exactly what we want to make audible. In July, our stories will be part of the programme of „Meine Sache ist WIE ich sie fange 2026“ - on stage or at our fair of possibilities. And the best thing? Preparations are in full swing for the second season of our major theatre project, „My Business is HOW I Catch It“.
