Singer-Songwriter Competition
A singer-songwriter competition for young musicians from Lausitz is planned for 2026. The aim of the competition is to promote emerging artists from the region and offer them a stage for their own songs.
The competition will be accompanied by an expert jury. The jury will consist of a total of six to eight people, including representatives from Lusatia as well as from relevant cultural and media institutions, such as Lausitziade, rbb, Kulturland Brandenburg, or Zentrum Pop. The final composition of the jury will be announced later.
The competition
The competition is divided into two rounds:
In the first round, the jury makes a pre-selection based on the submitted entries. The second round will take the form of live concerts with the finalists, presumably at the Lausitziade office. An online vote is also conceivable as a supplement.
Terms and Conditions
Solo acts or duos with instrumental accompaniment from Lusatia can participate. The minimum age is 14 years, and the maximum age is 25 years. Submission of videos with original lyrics and original compositions is a prerequisite. Participants must come from one of the five districts of Lusatia.
Pricing and performance opportunities
The main prize is a final concert in Cottbus in autumn 2026. Around seven winners will have the opportunity to perform for approximately 20 minutes each.
Further information, as well as registration for the competition, will follow soon at this location.
