My thing is HOW I catch them is a new regional stage programme that tells a new fairy tale from Lusatia, about Lusatia, and with people from Lusatia every year. The approximately 90-minute format combines music, literature, dance, film, and visual arts into a common narrative thread. The basis is conversations with people of all ages from Lusatia. Like a kaleidoscope, it connects existing and emerging contributions from dance, singing, film, poetry, prose, visual arts, and other artistic forms into a collective image of the region. ...

A German-Sorbian narrative condenses the contributions into an emotional portrait of the region from its own perspective. The title quotes a verse by Gerhard Gundermann from „Die Zukunft“: „My thing is how I catch them.

„It’s not just about what we tell, but about HOW we tell it,“ says Claudia Arndt, initiator and head of the project. In this way, different perspectives on home and change in Lusatia are being created, involving multiple generations.

The focus is on co-creation and exchange. Cultural producers, both professional and voluntary, are invited to contribute themselves and their work with regional relevance. Anyone connected to Lusatia by (former) place of residence can also contribute their perspective. As a German-Sorbian project, „Meine Sache“ strengthens the Sorbian roots and the Sorbian future of Lusatia.
