Fairy tales, people, mentalities – stories for a Lusatia of tomorrow

Fairy tales, people, mentalities – stories for a Lusatia of tomorrow
A storytelling workshop as part of „My Business is HOW I Catch It 2026“ Do you fancy telling (your) story? The Lusatia used to be full of them. The people
told each other about mermen, the Lutki, the Pśezpołdnica and some even had a lucky dragon in their attic. Then the world changed. Open-cast mines ate their way through villages, some stories fell silent and new ones emerged. But who tells them today? That's exactly what we want to find out! Over three weekends, we will immerse ourselves in the art of free oral storytelling and combine the fairy tales, myths and legends of Lower Lusatia with biographical experiences, anecdotes and perspectives of tomorrow. We tell stories in German, Sorbian/Wendish, English with sign language or in completely different languages. Lower Lusatia sounds diverse and that's exactly what we want to make audible. In July, our stories will be part of the programme of „Meine Sache ist WIE ich sie fange 2026“ - on stage or at our fair of possibilities. And the best thing? No prior knowledge is required to take part. All you need is an appetite for good stories and curiosity about what's to come. Register here.

„Pückler's Lausitz Festival enters its second year

The project „Pücklers Lausitziade“ was launched with the aim of making the successes of the transformation in the Lusatia region of Brandenburg more visible through art and culture. We have achieved a great deal in 2025 and launched our four event series: we began with the competition for young DJs and producers „laut@Lausitz“ in June and July, where we crowned the first prize winners for performances at „Wilde Möhre“. At the end of July, „Meine Sache ist WIE ich sie fange“ (My Thing is HOW I Catch It) was celebrated in Spremberg, Forst and Senftenberg – Lusatia's largest participatory theatre event! In September, we got hands-on with the first „Parkzeit“ (Park Time) in Lauchhammer Castle Park, and soon after in Branitz Park as well. The crowning finale of the Lausitziade year was the much-celebrated premiere of „Glück auf – die Barbarashow“ (Good Luck – the Barbara Show) on December 6th in a LEAG workshop hall in Schwarze Pumpe.
