PROJECTS
My thing
Courage for freedom. Courage to participate.
My Thing is HOW I Catch It is a regional stage programme that tells a new fairy tale from Lusatia, about Lusatia, and with people from Lusatia, every year.
The approximately 90-minute format combines music, literature, dance, film, and visual arts into a common narrative thread. It is based on conversations with people of all ages from Lusatia. Like a kaleidoscope, it links existing and emerging contributions from dance, singing, film, poetry, prose, visual arts, and other artistic forms into a collective picture of the region. A German-Sorbian narrative condenses the contributions into an emotional portrait of the region from its own perspective. The title quotes a verse by Gerhard Gundermann from „Die Zukunft“: „Meine Sache ist wie ich sie fange“ (My thing is how I catch it).
THE BARBARA SHOW
A show between tradition and modernity
Mining is closely tied to Lusatia, its success story, and the profound changes its people have faced and mastered. It symbolises what Lusatia can be proud of. Above all, the annual celebration of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners, keeps this tradition alive.
We have therefore prepared a special Barbara celebration. With „Glück Auf – the Barbara Show,“ we tell and celebrate the success story of Lusatia: we are mastering change, looking back with pride, and looking ahead to the future.
LAUT@LAUSITZ
DJ and Producer Contest and Singer-Songwriter Competition for young people from Lusatia!
laut@ Lausitz is part of the Lausitz Festival and is aimed at young DJs and producers with a passion for electronic music. The competition offers them feedback from established artists, visibility, networking opportunities, and the chance to become part of Lusatia’s vibrant cultural scene.
laut@lausitz, as part of the Lausitziade, will also be holding a singer-songwriter competition for young musicians from the Lausitz region for the first time in 2026. The aim of the competition is to promote emerging artists from the region and offer them a stage for their own songs.
Park Time – green@Lausitz:
Together for a green future!
The Lausitziade has begun – loud, colourful and, above all, green. As part of this cultural initiative, the Lausitziade Cultural Office is inviting you to „Parkzeit“ (Park Time) – a special participatory project focused on practical garden conservation in Lusatia.
„Pückler's Lausitzade“ is a federally funded project in the Lusatia region of Brandenburg. The project aims to showcase the successes of transformation in Lusatia through the means of art and culture.
About Us
The team
for all people in Lusatia
„Pückler's Lausitziade,“ a project within the federal funding initiative STARK (Strengthening Transformation Dynamics and Uplift in the Mining Regions and at Coal Power Plant Sites), is part of the structural change in Germany's former brown coal mining regions. This is particularly relevant to Lusatia, a region undergoing profound economic, social, and cultural transformation due to the coal phase-out. The project is funded by the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control and the state of Brandenburg. „Pückler's Lausitziade“ is part of the „Krasse Lausitz“ campaign.
